We have our new space!

This weekend we moved into our four-floor space along
Broadmead's Arcade. It really is a unique space with the
ground floor having this huge window and the bottom two
floors having been previously used as an old jewelers.
From the third floor up, however, it is a different story.
The tiny, bare wood spiraled stair case takes you to a
room who's only inhabitant of the last decade has been a
pigeon. Then you move on to the top, bare wood attic
floor and it is hard to imagine that a building could have
retained so many classic original features as one in this
part of town, especially considering the facad.

The space will be opening with a host of different events
on Thursday 19th of June, so please check the blog for
updates.

Bye.

Spike Island Open Studios in Bristol was the perfect setting
for the second show from Rhys & Hannah Present. This
year 7000 people came through the doors over the bank
holiday weekend after a voyeuristic feast; a little nose at
some studios and artwork and possibly buy some art.
However, hidden away in one studio was what we'd by if
you buy (our t-shirts)

The brief was to make a t-shirt/some t-shirts that
represented, depicted or encapsulated an item of that
artist's personal desire. Then, by way of using this occasion
to raise the money to go out and buy that thing, the t-shirts
were priced at the price of that object. You simply made a
t-shirt about what you wanted and sold it for the price of
that thing.

Well, it was a fantastic success. to celebrate the 25 years
that Rhys has been alive, Rhys & Hannah Present put
together a show in the Comissioning Bay down at Spike
Island Studios. it was the first collaborative show for
Rhys & Hannah Present and we had a very lovely time
with generous offerings of local scrumpy, artwork from
Victoria Bolt, Rhys Coren and Anton Goldenstein, a live
performance of the infamous 'Milo' song from Gypsum
Fantastic aka John Murdoch and DJ sets from Milo
himself and Christopher Wright. Here are some photos...

Thanks to all the artists involved, especially
Anton Goldenstein for helping build the 'space' and also
Kieran Brown (http://www.kieranbrown.co.uk/) for
running the bar in fancy dress. For pictures we thank
Worboys, Kung and Tor.

Biggest thanks to Jordan Evans-Viney though for grafting
long and hard to make big paper Frank a reality for
nothing more than the odd Marks&Spencer salad.
